Tyneside Cinema

A year in the making, what a delight when a copy ‘hot off the press’ of the News Real Teachers Resource Pack, published by Tyneside Cinema arrived on our desk.

Working alongside Tyneside Cinema’s Education Department and Writer David Walmsley, we designed and delivered a coherent, easy to follow teachers pack that supported a pilot project to teach children about the history and heritage of Tyneside Cinema.

The success of the project led to the commissioning of News Real Teachers Resource Pack. The final publication was delivered in four guidance brochures, packaged in a folder with a disc containing newsreel clips and classroom resources.

The pack was designed within Tyneside Cinema brand guidelines, with the addition of graphic devices such vertical ‘line scratches’ to create ownership and individuality. Imagery both historic and new was used to take the reader from the past to the present.

An inspiring project which has encapsulated a valuable piece of local history.
